Even though he was signed by Bellator the UFC put together a touching tribute to Kimbo Slice last night at UFC Fight Night 89 in Ottawa.
Slice went 1-1 in the UFC and appeared on TUF 10 which featured future UFC fighters Roy Nelson, Matt Mitrione, Brendan Schaub, Jon Madsen and Marcus Jones. Slice lost to Nelson on the show but still got to fight in the UFC and won his debut against Houston Alexander at the Ultimate Fighter 10 Finale in 2009.
After a bad loss to Mitrione in 2010 Zuffa released him and dabbled in boxing before signing with Bellator last year. In his debut Kimbo defeated UFC Hall of Famer Ken Shamrock by TKO. He also defeated Dada 5000 in one of the worst fights in Bellator history earlier this year before being diagnosed with a hear condition that ultimately cost him his life.
Slice died on June 6, 2016 and the funeral took place last week.
