Chael Sonnen vs Wanderlei Silva will finally go down June 24 at MSG in NY

Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva will finally settle their differences in the cage after a feud that has bee simmering since 2012 when “The Axe Murderer” got fed up “The Bad Guy” was disrespecting Brazilians. The two men coached against each other in 2014 on TUF Brazil season 3. Unfortunately both men were popped for PEDs and the fight never happened in the octagon. Now Silva and Sonnen will face off in a Bellator cage on pay per view in Madison Square Garden in New York City on June 24th.

The AP reported the fight this afternoon shortly after it was announced that Bellator had come to terms with Ryan Bader.

No other fights are known for the show but with Bader now in Bellator it’s likely he will come into the promotion to face Phil Davis for the light heavyweight title. Bader defeated Davis at UFC on Fox 14 in 2015. A rematch with Rampage Jackson is also a possibility since Bader also holds a win over him as well.

Michael Page and Paul Daley could also finally face each other. Both men have been linked to the other for years but the fight has never happened. Fedor Emelianenko vs Matt Mitrione is also a possibility. The fight was supposed to take place in February but kidney stones force Mitrione off the show the day of the event.

Bellator has only done one pay per view in the company’s history, Bellator 120. The show featured Rampage vs King Mo 1 and also had Tito Ortiz vs Alexander Shlemenko and Will Brooks vs Michael Chandler.

The UFC ran in Madison Square Garden last October. World Series of Fighting held an event there earlier this year but it didn’t do as well.
