The Hype Bros vs. The Colons
I have the feeling the WWE is setting us up for a Zack Ryder heel turn. Ryder has been out of action for months and in his absence Mojo Rawley has become a player on Smackdown. I think the Colons win due to some miscommunication between the Hype Bros that eventually leads Ryder becoming a bad guy.
Naomi vs. Lana for Smackdown Women’s Title
I get the feeling that Lana is going over. Her ceiling is a lot higher than Namoi’s especially since Rusev is expected to be back on TV this week. With Lana winning the belt we can expect to see her hold it over Rusev’s head and light a fire under him to become a champ too.
The Usos vs. The New Day for the WWE Smackdown Tag Team Titles
I really don’t care who wins this match. New Day has grown stale and the Usos don’t do it for me either. The best case scenario would be for the Usos to lose and move to RAW to become the henchmen for a heel Roman Reigns. That happening though. I think New Day retains and we see a rematch at Summerslam.
Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match Charlotte Flair vs. Carmella vs. Becky Lynch vs. Natalya vs. Tamina Snuka
Having Charlotte go over is too easy. I don’t see Natalya or Carmella winning it either. Snuka would be a swerve and a good choice but I think Becky Lynch will wind up with it causing friction with her BFF Charlotte which could lead to a match at Summerslam.
Money in the Bank Ladder Match Sami Zayn vs. AJ Styles vs. Kevin Owens vs. Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. Baron Corbin
A lot of people think Shinsuke Nakamura or Ziggler are going to win tonight. I think McMahon wants Nakamura to pay his dues a while before he gets a monster push. Ziggler, on the other hand, never will get a serious push in the WWE so he’s out too. Styles doesn’t need the briefcase to be relevant so it comes down to Owens, Zayn and Baron Corbin. Owens is the perfect guy to have the briefcase since it always works best with a cocky heel winning it. But with the U.S. title I’m not sure he needs it now. I don’t think Vince McMahon sees Sami Zayn as a legit guy who can carry the title so he won’t be winning tonight. Through process of elimination I think Corbin wins. He’s been Triple H’s guy since his NXT days and he’s paid his dues over the past year and a half slowly rising up the card after winning the Andre the Giant Battle Royal at Wrestlemania 32. Corbin wins and is a guy the WWE builds Smackdown around in the coming months.
Jinder Mahal vs. Randy Orton for WWE Championship
I just don’t see Orton winning the belt back. Mahal went from jobber to champ way too fast but his reign as champion is refreshing and gives the WWE something different to feature instead of Orton vs. Cena for the 15,279th time when “The Face That Runs The Place” returns next month. There are rumors Orton’s dad, Bob Orton will be at the show and I can see a scenario where Mahal does something to him that causes a finish that results in the title not changing hands due to DQ or a countout.
There you go. What do you think? We’ll find out tonight. It’s going to be hard to top last year’s show that saw Dean Ambrose win the briefcase and win the title in the same night.
