Teddy Holder will make his long-awaited return to the cage on March 25th to take on Adrian Miles for the V3 light heavyweight title. Holder is looking to re-establish himself as the top light heavyweight in the region and will have an opportunity to prove he is the best 205er with a win over Miles.
“I’m really looking forward to it,” said Holder. “I know Adrian is a very tough opponent and I know he is very well rounded. It’s a good opportunity for me to show what I can do against a guy like him who has had a really good career. He’s fought at a high level for a long time. I’m not taking him lightly”.
Miles has been fighting professionally since 2009 and has beaten a lot of the big draws in west Tennessee. In 2013 after winning six straight fights Miles was selected for the UFC reality show, The Ultimate Fighter. Unfortunately he didn’t win his fight to get in the house but he rebounded nicely with a TKO win over Amaechi Oselukwue at V3: Johnson vs Johnson in January 2014.
In 2015 Holder shocked the world when he knocked out former UFC light heavyweight #1 contender Thiago Silva at WSOF 19. Holder was scheduled to fight on the undercard of the show but when Matt Hamill became ill the day of the fight “The Hitman” stepped up and took on Silva on very short notice. Holder won the fight and earned an opportunity to fight for the WSOF light heavyweight title against David Branch. He didn’t win WSOF gold but will have an opportunity to win the V3 title on March 25th.
“I plan on having that V3 title around my waist at the end of the night,” said Holder. “That’s the plan. That’s my motivation heading into this fight. I know Adrian is going to bring it but I plan on bringing it too. I hope the fans are ready because there’s going to be fireworks”.
V3: Holder vs Miles will take place at the Minglewood Hall in Memphis, TN on March 25th. Tickets will go on sale in the coming days.
