Samoa Joe has been biding his time in NXT patiently waiting for his turn on the WWE roster. Joe debuted on May 20, 2015 at NXT TakeOver: Unstoppable and has been a main event guy for the promotion. He pinned Finn Balor and was the first two-time NXT champ in the company’s history after beat Shinsuke Nakamura in November. Nakamura regained the belt two weeks later and Joe hasn’t done much in NXT since.
Now that’s dropped the strap it’s only a matter of time before we see Joe in the WWE. Vince McMahon likes to bring in big names for the Royal Rumble and it seems like a logical spot to bring Joe in for his debut. Last January AJ Styles made his debut in the match and quickly made an impact.
There were rumors online that Joe was in for a monster push upon his WWE debut and there was talk of having him face Brock Lesnar. With “The Beast” tied up with Goldberg right now Joe will have to find another dance partner if he is going to get a match on Wrestlemania 33. A spot in the Andre the Giant Battle Royal might be where he lands at Mania in April.
We’ll have to stay tuned to see if Joe makes his debut at the Rumble. For some reason if he doesn’t show up in the battle royal Joe will likely appear after Wrestlemania on RAW or maybe in the Andre the Giant Battle Royal at Wrestlemania like Baron Corbin did last year.
