Is Ronda Rousey coming back to the UFC after two straight losses or is she walking away? That’s what fans want to know and the former champ ain’t talking. After announcing she wanted to take some time to figure out what’s next after getting knocked out at UFC 207 Rousey hasn’t tipped her hand. But tonight Rousey posted a quote by Harry Potter creator, JK Rowling on Instagram.
“And so rock bottom became the solid foundation on which I rebuilt my life.”
The quote really is quite fitting all that Rousey has gone through since losing to Amanda Nunes two weeks ago. “Rowdy” was quiet leading up to the title fight in Las Vegas and did little media to promote the fight. Now she finds herself at a crossroads in her MMA career.
Rousey took her first loss very hard at UFC 193 to Holly Holm. She went on Ellen and talked about contemplating suicide after the defeat. Now Rousey has to figure out if she wants to go through another training camp and risk a third straight loss just to get back in the win column. At 30 years of age Rousey is still in her prime but she could also switch gears and transition into pro wrestling and work out something with the WWE and Vince McMahon. Rousey has made plenty of money and could decide that the WWE offers her more money for less dates and wear and tear on her body. A one off match at the Royal Rumble or Wrestlemania could pay her six or seven figures and be a lot more fun than an eight week training camp that leads to her getting punched in the face for five rounds.
The post to Instagram is very cryptic and could be taken as she’s walking away or she’s getting ready to fight again. Hopefully Rousey will post something a little more concrete in the coming weeks so we know what she is going to do.
