Rampage Jackson won a controversial decision over King Mo in 2014 and the two men have been jawing at each other ever since. Since the fight Jackson has been red hot and has won five straight fights. Now the former UFC champ will face Mo at Bellator 175 at The Forum in Inglewood, CA on March 31.
The fight will be contested at heavyweight. The older Rampage gets the less weight he likes to cut. The bout will also be his last on his current Bellator deal. It really is no secret that Jackson wants to end his career in the UFC but Viacom and Bellator might end up making him a deal he can’t refuse.
It was thought that Rampage was going to fight at Bellator 162 in his hometown, Memphis, TN last September but he wanted to take some time off after fighting in June against Satoshi Ishii.
King Mo is one of those guys that you never know what to expect. He can be dynamic or get knocked out depending on how he looks once the fight starts. After winning seven straight in Bellator Mo lost two of his last three to Phil Davis and most recently, Mirko Cro Cop in the second round of the Rizin World Grand-Prix 2016. Cro Cop beat Mo by TKO in one of the biggest upsets of the year.
Mo vs Rampage 2 should be a lot of fun. There is no love lost and both men legitimately don’t like the other. Mo thinks he won their first fight but Jackson left with his hand raised. If Mo can get the win he will seriously hurt his rivals bargaining power with the UFC since we know Dana White doesn’t like to pay guys who are coming off losses.
Bellator 175 will be held at The Forum in Inglewood, CA on March 31st. No other fights have been announced.
