Kevin Owens attacked Chris Jericho again in Germany at WWE Live Event

Chris Jericho came out last night in Regensburg, Germany to address the WWE Universe for the first time after being attacked by Kevin Owens at the Festival of Friendship two weeks ago. Jericho didn’t get to say very much before he was jumped by his former best friend who also in Germany. WWE camera crews got the beatdown on video and put it up this morning.

Jericho is going to be a white hot babyface when he makes his return to RAW. Vince McMahon would be smart to keep Y2J off TV until Fastlane to build anticipation. Owens is scheduled to defend his title against Goldberg at the pay per view and it’s thought that Jericho could come out and cost him the Universal title to set up their match at Wrestlemania 33 in April.

Jericho will be taking some time off in May to tour with his band so it’s likely he will lose his United States title to Owens and help build up his former buddy on the way out. But if the WWE wanted to reward Jericho for his hard work they could have Owens retain against Goldberg somehow and let Y2J win the Universal title for the first time. That’s wishful thinking because McMahon has never viewed Jericho as a top guy. Owens is being groomed for the long-term and Jericho putting him over is how business is normally done on the way out.
