Will he or won’t he? Hardcore wrestling fans want to know if Kenny Omega is coming to the WWE and will be a part of the Royal Rumble tonight in San Antonio. There have been rumors about Omega making his WWE debut ever since he tore the house down at Wrestle Kingdom a few weeks ago. The Bullet Club member teased fans by saying he was not going to re-sign with New Japan after his match with Kazuchika Okada. Since then he has talked about going back to Japan instead of signing with WWE.
Last night Omega was in Chile wrestling. If he was going to be in San Antonio tonight he would have to endure a ten hour plane ride back to the United States to Texas for the event. Omega hasn’t been very active on Twitter this morning meaning he’s on the plane to San Antonio or he’s been resting after a big match last night.

Last year AJ Styles made his WWE debut at the Rumble after signing with the WWE a few weeks before. If Vince McMahon could convince Omega to come in he would certainly be a guy who would pop the crowd tonight when he came out for the match. Since the Rumble Styles has become one of the biggest stars in the WWE and helped carry Smackdown after John Cena went to a part-time schedule last year.
It’s thought that Samoa Joe will make his debut tonight in the match after being off NXT TV for a few weeks. There is also rumors online that Shinsuke Nakamura could also be called up after dropping the NXT belt to Bobby Roode at Takeover: San Antonio. By losing the title Nakamura doesn’t really have anything tying him to developmental anymore and he’s a guy who would be worthy of being a surprise for the Rumble match.
I wouldn’t count on an Omega appearance in the Rumble match but crazier things have happened in the WWE. Maybe Omega and Vince McMahon are playing things close to the vest and we are all in for a big surprise and a Bullet Club is in the works for San Antonio. We will have to tune into the WWE Network tonight to see exactly how it shakes out.
