John Cena has been hinting that New Japan star Kenny Omega is coming to the WWE on Instagram in recent days. On Sunday Cena put up a picture of Omega on the social media site to get people talking.
On Monday Cena was at it against posting a picture of Kenny from South Park to keep people talking.
SI.com caught up with Omega to get his thoughts on Cena’s online antics and he was very complimentary towards the WWE legend.
“John Cena is one of the great WWE talents that I respect most. If I were to end up there, working with someone of his caliber would certainly be a goal and jive with my mission of changing wrestling. I’m glad to be on his radar, but I haven’t made any decisions regarding my future yet.”
Omega actually was in WWE developmental in 2005 and 2006. He ultimately was released but Vince McMahon and Triple H know who he is. Since leaving Deep South Omega honed his craft in Ring of Honor, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla and New Japan similar to what AJ Styles, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows did. The WWE has been very aggressive in signing new talent since they now have two brands to fill. Maybe we see a reunion with the Bullet Club in the WWE one day.
After competing on Wrestle Kingdom last week Omega tweeted that he would be stepping away from Japan which fueled the talks of a run in the WWE.
I will be stepping away from Japan to reassess my future. The path of my journey may change, but my goals will not. pic.twitter.com/E4vDiGgAwe

We will have to wait and see if Omega show up in the Royal Rumble later this month like AJ Styles did last year. For all we know Jeff Jarrett could’ve talked him into signing with TNA. No matter where he lands up Omega will be a star.
