“The Bad Guy” is back! After a two year suspension Chael Sonnen will headline Bellator 170 tomorrow night against Tito Ortiz at the The Forum in Inglewood, California. Both men have engaged in a war of words leading up to the big event and Sonnen has done his best to get under the former UFC light heavyweight champ’s skin at very turn.
The two men weighed in today and Sonnen was actually the heavier fighter despite normally fighting at middleweight during his run at the UFC. Sonnen has fought several times at 205 with a win over Shogun Rua but all in all, has had most of his success at middleweight.
Right now Sonnen is a -210 favorite despite not competing since 2013. Ortiz hasn’t fought in a year and a half and is 2-1 in his last three fights. “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy” got destroyed when he faced former Bellator light heavyweight champ Liam McGeary in his last fight in September 2015.
Sonnen claims he is on a “Legends Ass-Whooping Tour” and Ortiz is the first victim on his list. We will see tomorrow night if he can back up all the smack he has talked leading up to the fight.
