Coleman and Trigg released from UFC after losses at UFC 109

What have you done for me lately? The UFC released Frank Trigg and Mark Coleman after their poor performances at UFC 109.

Coleman didn’t look himself being choked out by Randy Couture in the 2nd round. Since returning to the UFC Coleman racked up a 1-2 record. At UFC 93 Coleman made his return to the octagon and suffered a late third round TKO although had he had any cardio he may have won the decision. At UFC 100 Coleman defeated Stephan Bonnar and was to co-main event UFC 106 against Tito Ortiz before pulling out due to injury.

Frank Trigg was 0-2 in his attempted return to the UFC. He suffered two first round losses to Josh Koscheck and Matt Serra.

It’s unclear if either man will retire but with Strikeforce and DREAM it’s possible we could see the two fight again.
