The Ultimate Fighter headed to the Middle East

Dana White told that MMAJunkie.com that the UFC is looking to have international editions of The Ultimate Fighter. And it’s possible the first place they would go would be is the Middle East.

White has said that MMA will be the biggest sport in several years but the UFC will have to figure out TV distribution to make it work.

“How do we plug this whole thing in with television and how to watch it everywhere?” White said. “We’re trying to figure that whole thing out and build that now. But the groundwork for this thing is ‘The Ultimate Fighter,’ and we’ve been working it very hard, and we’re making it happen. ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ is going to be all over the world. That’s the goal.”

Would the Spike TV show the international editions of TUF? That’s something we’ll have to wait and find out.

The UFC branched out in season 9 of the show and brought in a team from the UK to pit against a team from the United States. It was great for the sport in England as guys like Michael Bisping and Dan Hardy were on the verge of becoming superstars in the sport. If the UFC could make that happen for other guys in other countries it would make expanding into other countries a lot easier and help build superstars that other countries could get behind and inevitably pay money to watch fight on pay per view.
