Cheick Kongo has a lot riding on this fight. A loss to Mir will regulate him to “Gatekeeper” status. Kongo is coming off a tough loss to Cain Velasquez at UFC 99 and needs a big win to get him back in the thick of the division and possibly a shot at Brock Lesnar.
