ATO has learned that UFC veteran George Roop has agreed to face Jesse Moreng at WEC 46 “Varner vs. Henderson” on Jan. 10th 2010.

Roop dominated Matt Dell at Rage in the Cage 137 last weekend to earn a unanimous decision victory. This was Roop’s first fight sine being released from the UFC after losing to George Sotiropoulos at UFC 101.

Roop was featured on season 8 of The Ultimate Fighter. He defeated Roli Delgado and John Polakowski before falling to Phillipe Nover in the semi-finals. Since the show he lost a controversial split decision to Shane Nelson at the Finale in December. Roop got back to his winning ways with a split decision win over Dave Kaplan at UFC 98.

Roop will now compete at 135, twenty pounds lighter than he competed on The Ultimate Fighter and the UFC.

Moreng suffered the only loss of his career in the WEC in March 2007 to Micah Miller. “Arturo” has won four of his last six fights by submission.
