Jesse Taylor, War Machine, and Jeff Monson keep winning streaks alive in Mexico

JM

Jesse Taylor, War Machine (Jon Koppenhaver) and Jeff Monson were the big winners last night at the Total Combat show in Mexico City.

Jesse Taylor added the Total Combat middleweight strap to his collection of titles after picking up the submission win over Rubén Darío early in the first round. Taylor has now won 6 straights since being released from the UFC last year.

War Machine defeated Erick “Perry” Montaño via armbar in the third round. Montaño hung with Koppenhaver for two rounds before getting caught in the third. Koppenhaver even acknowledged that he underestimated his opponent coming in. The controversial Mr. Machine has now won four straight since his release from the UFC.

Jeff Monson defeated Jimmy “The Titan” Ambriz via rear naked choke in the first round. This was his sixth straight win since falling to Josh Barnett last May.

So the lesson learned here is that if you need a win go to Mexico.
