Bruce Buffer talks about Chuck Liddell’s “retirement”
Bruce Buffer talked about Chuck Liddell’s predicament of whether or not to retire on his blog. Hopefully Chuck will take some time after his loss Sunday and come back for a big fight.
I truly thought Chuck was going to reign supreme Saturday night and unfortunately it did not go that way… it is always hard for me to see a friend lose but Chuck is a true fighter and Octagon Warrior… he doesn’t make excuses and gives it his all and he was ready and had a great camp leading up to the fight… but when one enters the Octagon in this sport that is still so pure, especially in the UFC, one man can win on any given night and it just wasn’t his night again.
Will he retire? I do not know… should he retire? I do not know… if he does and decides to come back in a year or so will it be a big fight, it will be a MEGA fight because whenever the Iceman fights, it will always be a much anticipated fan favorite event for all to see and buy the pay per view… WHY, because he is friggin Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell and we all love him as the champion he is and for all the great moments he has brought us from the Octagon.
I only want the best for Chuck, for his family and for his health and whatever he decides, I will back him up 100%. It’s hard for me to even conceive never announcing him in the Octagon again and if that happens then so be it because I’ll be lucky enough to still have fun with Chuck on our amazing UFC international campus in which we play for many years to come.

Chuck will be back for one more fight. Just one more. Perhaps against Rampage?
